AIMS:
• To use all available resources to promote public awareness of sickle cell disorder/disease.
• To encourage the development, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive Sickle cell programme for Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
• To develop a register of affected individuals.
• To provide education, counseling and welfare for those affected and their caregivers and families.
• To lobby providers of health and social care to improve the services for affected individuals.
• To enable those affected to realize their full potential.
• To encourage screening of the population to identify persons who are carriers of the gene so that they can be offered information and counselling.
