Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach County & Treasure Coast, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit organization that administers public funds, private grants and donations for education and services to persons with Sickle Cell Disease/Trait and their families in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties. In addition to outreach, advocacy and screening, the following services are available to persons with Sickle Cell Disease/Trait:
-basic life skills counseling
-comprehensive case management
-information and education to parents of infants who test positive for Sickle Cell Trait
-family support groups
Since our founding in 1979, our organization has helped thousands of people understand how to live with the disease/trait, which affects 1 in 12 African-Americans but is not limited to just that ethnic group.
