Kenneth R. Peterson is the Professor and Vice Chair of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Kansas University Medical Center. He completed his Ph.D. in 1987 from University of Arizona and postdoctoral in 1987-1990 from University of Arizona. His major interest is genetic regulatory mechanisms with emphasis on the delineation of the function of locus control regions.

Dr. Kenneth Peterson was announced as a recipient of the Chancellors Club Research Award on October 1, 2015. His research has given hope to patients diagnosed with sickle cell disease and other genetic blood disorders.
