Gladys Ashe Robinson joined Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency as Executive Director in 1982. Her roles as Executive Director are many, including the overall management of the agency, agency and program development, grant writing for new and existing projects, fundraising, chief liaison to the Board of Directors and directing the overall mission and vision of the organization. She is now CEO of Piedmont Health Services and Sickle Cell Agency.

In addition to her management duties, Dr. Robinson is involved in several adjunct projects. She is currently serving as the Principal Investigator for grants funded through the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), among others. She has served as an instructor at the Duke University Nonprofit Management Center, Triad Region; and is a Grants Reviewer for CDC and HRSA.
