41st Annual Sickle Cell Road Race/Walk

The Sickle Cell Road Race/Walk is an RRCA-certified State Championship race — a major attraction for runners! The race is foremost a charitable event, with proceeds supporting the nonprofit mission and programs of the Sickle Cell Foundation of Georgia, Inc. SCFG serves people affected by sickle cell disease and sickle cell trait — both are genetic blood disorders.

Participants will run the challenging 7k (4.3 miles) course or walk the comfortable 4k (2.5 miles) course down Main Street and through East Point‘s diverse communities. While in town, everyone will get a glimpse of the New City Hall and downtown growth, convenient transit, neighborhood charm, hospitality, and robust businesses like yours, which the City of East Point offers. The 7k run is chip timed, the course is certified, and it’s a Peachtree Road Race qualifier. Rain or Shine our event will go on!

Due to the COVID-19 virus, we have postponed the Sickle Cell Road Race/Walk until September 12, 2020. We are still accepting applications. If there are any additional changes it will be communicated here on our website.
